Body – Using orange yarn:
- mc, sc x 8 (8)
- inc. each (16)
- sc, inc (24)
- sc x 2, inc (32)
- sc x 3, inc (40)
- sc x 4, inc (48)
- sc x 5, inc (56)
- sc each for 15 rounds/rows (56)
Stem – Color change to brown:
- sc x 55, last stitch sc down into stitch below, sl st into 1st stitch, ch 2 (56)
- HDC x 56, sl st, ch 1 (56)
- sc x 56, sl st, ch 1 (56)
- sc x 56, sl st, ch 1, cut long tail, pull tail through. Weave in ends (56)
Vines – Color change to green:
4.0 mm hook
make 2 long chains for the drawstrings
ch 126, cut yarn and pull tail through, pull knot tight. (125)
Finish the Pouch:
Weave drawstrings around every other HDC stitch, from opposite sides of the pouch, tie off when the bag is open. Trim the tails.

40-60 minutes
35 yards of yarn
2 inches diameter
4 inches height
2 x 14 inches satin rat tail cord
2 x 8 mm beads with a 4 mm holemc = magic circle
ch = chain
sc = single crochet
inc = increase
sl st = slip stitch
hdc = half double crochetDirections
Work in continuous rounds.
Round 1 – mc, ch 1, sc x 9. (9)
Round 2 – sc inc x 9. (18)
Round 3 – *sc, inc* repeat x 9. (27)
Rnd 4 -17 – sc each. (27)
Round 18 – sc x 24, sl st x 3. (27)
Round 19 – sl st, ch 2, hdc same stitch and next 25, sc last stitch, sl st top of first hdc, ch 1. (27)
Round 20 – sc each, sl st into first sc, ch 1, cut yarn, pull through, weave in tail. (27)Weave drawstrings through hdc round. Under 2, over 2. Add beads, tie cord.
